Room at the Inn?
Would you consider fostering a boxer? BoxAR is in dire need of foster homes. Fostering is a very rewarding experience. You get to love on a dog that may have never known love before. Plus, you get the company of the best breed in the world!!! Will you please consider filling out a foster application and helping a
rescue boxer? Fostering means taking in a dog that may not have had a
very good start to life and you give that boxer a home to live in, love,
good food and a little training and get them ready to go to their
furever homes. Please consider helping us out.

BoxAR needs your help!!!
PLEASE! HELP US HELP MASON!
Mason is an 18 month-old fawn
male Boxer who is in dire need of your help. Mason came to us from
Memphis Animal Shelter, an owner surrender, with an neck injury that
needed tending. He could not hold his head up or turn it and they
wanted somebody to take him in and get him the treatment he needed that
they could not provide. BoxAR took him to the vet and had him evaluated
with x-rays and treated with steroids and pain medication and Mason
seemed to respond to what the vet prescribed…that, coupled with the love
and attention of his foster mom and dad, at least for a few days.
Mason started having digestion
problems…not keeping his food or water down and after a day and a half
during the holiday weekend, started having tiny seizures, although his
foster mom and dad did not recognize them for what they were. Off to
the emergency animal hospital for blood tests, x-rays, and other exams
that would give BoxAR a clue as to what was going on with little Mason.
The ER vet has not seen anything like this before and recommended that
little Mason go to the Southern Mississippi College of Veterinary
Medicine for evaluation and treatment.
Based on some of Mason’s behavior
at the vet’s office and at his foster home, BoxAR suspects that Mason
was abused in some way and that his condition is neurological and could
be the result of that abuse. Little Mason did not ask to be abused, but
BoxAR wants to give him the chance to have a good life free of the
results of that suspected abuse. This evaluation and treatment will be
more than BoxAR can afford on its own so we are asking for your help in
helping little Mason. He is the sweetest, gentlest, little boy and has
the biggest, brownest eyes that just look at you with hope and love,
despite what he has been through and what he is going through. When he
was feeling better, he would just TRY to Boxer bow on those long,
spindly legs and he would look so funny! He would do a loud bark to let
you know he was around and just waiting for you to come and love on him!
He would crawl right up in your lap and just rest his little head down
on your arm, heave a big ole’ sigh, and you could tell he just thought
he had come “home”. PLEASE let Mason try to become a “normal” Boxer
baby! Help us find out what is wrong with Mason and see if we can’t get
it fixed for him. Of course, this is real life and there are no
guarantees but we want to give Mason the best shot we can. THANKS from
all of us at BoxAR Rescue!!!
